Dr. Laura Fraint and Associates
Thoughtful, Insightful and Caring Support for Life’s Inevitable Challenges:
Helping you build a more meaingful and peaceful life
Our approach
We are a group of doctoral-level psychologists and masters-level therapists who provide quality mental health care. As a group, we assist individuals, couples and families by providing personalized psychotherapy that begins with collaboration and careful listening. We do not use a “one size fits all approach” and work to understand your unique challenges in a nuanced and sophisticated way. We are thoughtful as we get to know you, and to build your capacity for understanding yourself in new ways. We strive to understand how troubling patterns and behavior began. It is important to us that therapy tangibly improves the quality of your relationships with others and yourself, provide greater freedom and increase the capacity for joy and fun.
If you’re in need of help and interested in increasing your self-understanding with one of our therapists who meets your needs and is available to see you, online or in-person. We provide online therapy in 42 states. We provide in person therapy in Chicago (Lincoln Square) and in the Northshore suburbs (Northbrook).

Life's challenges can overwhelm us and leave us feeling chronically stressed. An understanding and kind therapist can provide relief by making sense of our thoughts and feelings, and helping to find new ways of coping. I believe that good therapy helps people create more fulfilling relationships, nurture talents and abilities, have healthier self-esteem, deepen self-awareness, renew hope and adjust to and cope with life's inevitable challenges.
I work with individuals struggling in their romantic relationships, with parenting and extended family, and at work My style is warm, understanding and thoughtful. I help people make connections between their past hurts and present problems, and identify painful patterns in their lives. I utilize mindfulness and meditation when appropriate.
I developed a broad, sophisticated perspective from time at the Erikson Institute. I supervised psychologists there, and currently train therapists at my private practice.
In addition to her work as a therapy, Dr. Fraint also has expertise in managing food allergies and with postpartum mental health.

For whatever challenge you're facing right now that brings you to therapy, know that it is my first priority for you to feel seen, heard, and understood. From the foundation of a warm and supportive therapeutic environment, we will help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself so that you can better navigate and cope with the challenges you are facing. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, which explores your unconscious processes and past experiences to understand behaviors and emotions. I believe that a deeper self understanding gives us more agency in the present to respond to stressors in new, more helpful ways.
My therapeutic approach has been effective with clients experiencing a broad scope of mental health concerns and life challenges, including depression, anxiety, persistent feelings of low self-worth, relationship issues, family conflict, identity development, and life transitions (including prenatal and postpartum).
If you'd like to build deeper self-understanding to have a sturdy sense of self to face all that life can throw our way, please feel free to reach out to set up time to talk.
